Todd McGowan, PhD (The Ohio State University, 1996) is a full professor in the English department at the University of Vermont. He is widely considered to be one of a few experts on the German philosopher, Hegel and is a prolific writer in philosophy, cultural studies, and film.

He has taught two seminars for GCAS:

Capitalism and Unfreedom and Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit (2021) and will be teaching Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit in 2022.
