What is Love Made Of?
A Seminar by Prof. Julie Reshe, PhD
Description:
Traditional psychoanalysis, which to a great extent defines our today’s common sense, inevitably implies pansexualism. From its perspective, sexual drive, which initially belongs to men, is the hidden essence of an intimate relationship between people and the foundation of human culture.
This course is an attempt to deconstruct this psychoanalytic version of anthropology. Through developing a more feminist perspective and resorting to modern scientific knowledge, we will consider the question: What if all-pervasive sexual instinct is a convenient patriarchal fiction?
