Prerequisite: Anyone interested. Also for BA or MA students who want to earn academic credits. You may take this course and transfer ECTS credits back to your college or university in the USA, Canada, the UK or Australia if your school of record accepts them.

Description:
This course involves a close reading of Friedrich Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Core philosophical themes that will be addressed include the role of creativity in philosophy, the question of nihilism, concepts of animality and superhumanity, and the active destruction of the unities of self, world and God.
You may take this course while trekking through the Alps with Prof. Rocky Gangle and another GCAS Faculty member. You may also take this course online.

Faculty: Prof. Rocky Gangle (Lead Instructor) + an additional faculty member and guide.

More Details
Participants will be staying in an Alps lodge hotel before our trek up the south face (about 700-900 metres in elevation) . Once we're on the alps meadows there's little elevation gain from hutte to hutte (day to day). We will spend 5 nights out (each night in a hutte) before descending back to the Alps lodge/hotel.
Food: you can pack your own food or fresh hot meals at each hutte. Food costs per day will be about 30€. If you have any questions feel free to schedule a Zoom call via the button below or call us at +353877541417 (also on Whatsapp).
you must pay for each night in the Hütte (approx. 40€) + 2 nights in a hotel
you can be picked-up in Salzburg or a nearby train station
you must have insurance and be in good physical shape
