Jason Childs is a psychoanalytic practitioner and writer based in Dijon, France. Born in Australia, he completed his doctorate in literary theory at the University of Technology, Sydney, where his research focused on the relationship between philosophy and literature. Subsequently, he completed graduate training in psychotherapy and counselling at Deakin University in Melbourne, and has undertaken further psychoanalytic training with the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR), the Lacan Circle of Australia, and the Freud-Lacan Institute, among others. He has published essays and literary criticism in the Sydney Review of Books, American Book Review, and a number of academic anthologies, and is the co-editor of The Cambridge History of the American Essay and The Cambridge History of the British Essay, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
