Filippo Scafi, PhD Researcher
Bio: I received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Turin and an MA in Continental Philosophy from the University of Warwick. My research interest, at the intersection of anthropology, semiotics and narratology, relates to how the human conceives and narrates itself and the non-human, as well as how a system of meaning defines the boundaries between objects in the world. The methodological perspective through which my research is carried on is François Laruelle's non-philosophy. I am also the head editor of Chaosmotics, a philosophy magazine I founded at Warwick with two fellows. Apart from philosophy, I am a keen tennis player, I adore black humor, I like reading ancient mythological/religious texts, and sometimes I dabble in video- and meme-making.
